I've probably got to deliver the finished version in the next few weeks though.' I could have been done a long time ago, but I wanted to keep going until they said, 'Stop!' The album comes out at the top of 2010, so every second I can get in the studio before then I'm going to take. 'Whatcha Say' making No.1 is a great achievement for me, but it feels more amazing knowing that people have really taken to the song.' If people are enjoying my music, that's all I can ask for. It's not so much about doing well statistically for me anyway. I've been working so hard on my album that I really feel like the best is yet to come. Having made No.1 with your debut single, do you feel pressure to match that success next time out? Maybe for the Grammys or something huge like that?' I'd love to perform the song with her as soon as we get chance. It's really refreshing to see someone like Imogen Heap getting commercial success now because she's just such an incredible talent. 'She's in love with the song and she's pleased that 'Hide and Seek' is still taking on a life of its own and making magic around the world. Well, of course you did' â€“ so it made a perfect marriage.'ĭo you know what she thinks of your song? It just so happened that my brother had just been telling me his story. One day I picked up Imogen Heap, brought it into JR and we both loved it, so we started to experiment. My producer JR Rotem is a music lover, and I'm a music lover too, so I'll often go into a record store and grab a CD I've never heard before. Whose idea was it to sample Imogen Heap's 'Hide and Seek'? She did take my brother back though and they're actually engaged now, so it all worked out good in the end.'
